Women's monument garden in Nauvoo. My Grandma Pond was on the general relief society when this was dedicated and was able to help with that.

Outside the visitors center in Independence Missouri. the sister missionaries loved giving hugs to those they could.

I found out where the term upper and lowercase letters come from The upper case are in the upper case and the lowercase and in the lowercase!!! Genius!

This past August we had the opportunity to go on a long road trip with some of my (Emily's) family. The purpose of the road trip was to help my sister Heather and her husband Andrew.
Day 1-We drove to Denver
Day2-We Drove to Independence Missouri
Day 3- Saw the Liberty Jail, Farwest, and Adam-Ondi-Ahman and drove to Nauvoo.
Day 4- Went to the Nauvoo temple, toured Nauvoo and had a great time at a vocal point concert.
Day 5-We went to three different shows put on by the missionaries. Toured Nauvoo and had a fun time at the pioneer games area. We went and had an awesome dinner at the Nauvoo historic hotel!!!
Day6- Was a LOOOOONG day. We went to Carthage Jail which was an incredible experience! We then drove on to South Haven Mississippi. We ended up not getting to the hotel till after
1 am and we were exhausted!!! It was also Heathers Birthday. Poor thing we had to travel all day!!!
Day 7- Woke up and found out that Heather and Andrew's moving truck wouldn't be there till after we left. We went shopping to get things for a Birthday party for Heather and did some laundry. Then we had some great Memphis BBQ at Corky's. OH it was YUMMY!
Day 8- Since we weren't having to move Heather and Andrew in we went SHOPPING at the outlets just south of were they live. It was great! I got a new leather purse that I love. We then went back and swam at Heather and Andrews new apartment. We then had a party for Heather with pizza and Ice Cream cake. As you can see we all enjoyed eating this trip!!
Day 9-We went to downtown Memphis and it was Incredible humid!!! We took a trolley ride around Memphis. It was a bit scary because the trolley would stop unless the driver totally shut the whole thing down. We had some close calls. I think seeing downtown Memphis once is enough for us. We also saw the large building Andrew's school is in. We then drove and saw the Memphis temple. We then went to Chili's for lunch then back to Heather and Andrews to cool down with a nice swim.
Day 10- We woke up and went to church at Heather and Andrews new ward. We only stayed for Sacrament meeting because we had to get on the road. That day we drove accross Arkansas and half of Oklahoma. As we were driving through Oklahoma we saw an Awsome lightening storm and when we got to Blackwell Oklahoma that night there was a Tornado warning about 40 miles away.
Day11- More thunderstorms today as we drove. Out on the plains it feels like those storm clouds could swallow you. We got in some bad rain and felt like we might float away but we made it out safe and it was really cool to see. This night we stayed in Laramie WY.
Day 12- Woke up early and drove HOME!!! We were glad to be home but not back to life!

Wow! What a road trip! Did you go up in the St. Louis arch? It is totally a clostrophobic experience. I love Nauvoo! Isn't it so beautiful? It really is humid there though which is the experience that made me realize that humidity makes you feel sluggish and heavy. How are you doing now after your trip? Are you ready for a vacation from your vacation?
Sounds like you had a great trip. It totally reminds me of when I went out to Navoou. I hope school is going well. We will have to catch up.
