The day Bennett was born...6/25/14

When I went to my 38 week appointment on Monday we were able to have an ultrasound to check on Bennett and his size. My doctor felt like at that point he was big enough to schedule for an induction. He first asked if  Saturday would work. I laugh and asked if he could do it sooner. He was leaving Friday  to spend the night at Youth Conference. So we decided Thursday would work great. I felt relieved to have a finish line. I also was a fan of the date. 6/26 my first car was a Mazda 626 so I thought it was kinda fun. So I tried to find things to occupy myself till Thursday. So I made plans to be at my Grandma's all day Wednesday for a change of scenery. Heather came up with her kids and my Mom came to quilt. We were having a great relaxing morning and afternoon. My Grandma has a great fenced in backyard that we set up a water table and let the kids have at it. My Grandma made a huge lunch with homemade bread, fruit, veggies, chips (Jack's favorite), and finished it off with huge ice cream cones. I would have ate more if I knew what was ahead. Before we ate lunch I said to everyone that I felt a little funny. I was wondering if I was having blood pressure issues. So as we finished I asked my Grandma if I could use her blood pressure cuff. My blood pressure was a little high but I knew that it probably wasn't high enough to be admitted. So I watched it for the next 2 hours just enjoying my time. It slowly was working its way higher. So I called the nurse. She had me lay down and take it again. It was again higher. So she said to me, "how fast can you be in labor and delivery". I told her 30 minutes and she said o.k. I will let them know. So I called Brent and told him to meet me at labor and delivery. My Mom dropped me off and took Jack home with her. We got checked in and I was concerned that they would just send me home. They started to monitor me and my blood pressure was coming down and I said to the nurse, will they really send me home when I am suppose to be back here in 12 hours. She still wasn't sure. Then my doctor showed up. He was like lets just do this! He didn't like the way my blood pressure was teetering and gave the o.k. to induce. Then from there things went quickly they gave me some petocin (sp?) and my doctor ran to a church
meeting and came back and literally broke my water in a white shirt and tie. An hour later we had Bennett at 10:39 p.m. It was strange to us because there was 2 nurses and 1 doctor and us in the room. When we had Jack I swear there was at least 20 people in the room and that is NO exaggeration. They also didn't whisk him away. We were able to have him until Brent took him to the nursery to be evaluated and brought him  right back. We felt normal for once at a delivery, it was good to feel routine. We feel so blessed to have Bennett and so happy for Jack to have a brother. I truly love the idea of two little boys!

Jack thought that he would just get in the water table.Silly kid!

Welcome to the world Bennett... He has chubby checks and a TON of hair!!!
