Outer Banks Day 3

In a gazebo at the gardens... We found places to set the camera so we could get good shots.

We are not sure what this was??? Bricks in trees

Back stage feet away from the water

Stage for the play The Lost Colony
On the third day of our trip we decided to take it easy and sleep in. So about mid day we drove over to Roanoake island. This island has a lot of history on it and a lot of fishing ports. The first thing we did was tour the Elizabethean Gardens. They were Gorgeous. If only my garden looked like that!!! The other nice thing about the gardens is that we were the only ones there as we walked through. When we were done at the gardens we were told about this huge Christmas shop that was there on the island and decided to check it out. It was huge!!! We spent a good hour and a half just walking through it. We got us a cute little ornament for our Christmas tree. After that next door we ate at a place called Darrells. This is were Brent tried his first hushpuppie. They are fried bread they have in the south. They were yummy!!! When we were done we went down to a place called the Lost Colony. Which is thought to be the place where a group of early settlers vanished from. We were able to see an Awesome play about it. We even had one on the North Carolina senators two rows ahead of us. I love that area because there is so much history and things to see and learn!!!
